Mercury Retrograde March 15th: How To Make It Work For You

Mercury retrograde is a time that is often spoken about as a time when everything goes wrong and is astrological hell. I mean yes there can be challenges but often people do not know how to navigate it or use it to their advantage.

In this blog I would like to talk to you about how to welcome in a retrograde and use it to your advantage.

Cosmic Update

I have been tracking the course of retrogrades for many years now, similar to those crazy guys that go and chase tornadoes etc.. except Mercury retrograde is a lot less dangerous..

Mercury is the planet of the mind and communication and during its retrograde period it does not perform its job as effectively let us just say.

Mercury Retrogrades last typically three weeks and occur about three to four times a year. This retrograde will change signs during its transit and will come out of retrograde on April 7th 2025. We have been going through retrogrades since the end of 2024 where there was a Mercury retrograde followed by a Mars retrograde (that one pissed me off the most), then a Venus retrograde (which is still its its cycle until April 12th 2025) and now This Mercury retrograde in Aries.

Not to mention this occurred during in between two eclipses in the month of March.

With Mercury in Aries retrograde there will be a reflection on our assertiveness, courage and pioneering qualities when it comes to how we think and communicate. Be careful of speaking without thinking which could seriously backfire.

Mercury switches signs into Pisces from Aries on the 29th where the process of mental and communication reassessment will be to do with the imagination, sensitivity and compassionate speech.

Starting New projects

Yes best to hold off on major decision making as there can be an increased risk of confusion, mistakes and delays.

Communication challenges

Friends could become distant, you could say one thing and it is taken the wrong way by another and when Mercury is in the warrior sign Aries this could end up in full on conflicts. This could all manifest from impulsivity. It is best to mull over your words before you speak.

Technological breakdowns

As the Planet mercury rules information exchange, communication and transport it can mean that those technological devices start acting up. I have had phones not acting as they should, as well as bicycles and other electronic devices in previous retrogrades.

Travel disruptions

Mercury also rules travel and so there can be delays or canceled travel plans. Make sure that you are adaptable, flexible and come early especially to flights. One time during a retrograde on the way to Spain from England I booked a flight to the completely wrong airport and the Mercury retrograde nightmare lasted about three days well into my birthday week vacation in Valencia.

Delays and setbacks

As I already mentioned when it comes to business, the mail, transport, sales, technology, commerce, and signing documents make sure you double check everything as the planet of the mind and intelligence is in inward mode. Kind of like it is doing its job but it is fasting and going on spiritual retreat so the planet's functions may not be as present as usual.

How to take advantage of Mercury Retrograde

I know this sounds easier said than done but just do not worry about it. Realize this is a time to go inward, you can reconnect with old friends or friends from the past may show up. It is a good time to examine your personal history or go over old journals (As well as keeping a journal) 

Trust the timing

I practice the law of attraction which states what you most predominantly focus on becomes your reality. I just let go of trying to do many of the things that Mercury rules such as business, travel, signing documents etc.…If you live in a hustle culture or a city this will seem inefficient or crazy but you will often find when you push things too hard that it just delays and delays. Yes things may take a bit more time but in that time there is this beautiful now moment. You can relax into it and let go of the fear of the future and start to see that everything works out in its own time

Movement may seem to slow down. I have often got depressed during previous Mercury retrogrades because I suddenly started to see behind the usual hustle and bustle that it felt there was no point to it all. I saw I was using the busyness to cover up a lot of emotions. The retrograde may make you see how your mind is sabotaging you or causing you suffering, this is a time for a mental reset.

And yes, if traveling or signing documents I expect it could take longer and that I need to double check and triple check my plans…but it's ok and part of the Virgo eclipse that just occurred on the 14th which was reminding us to just let go of the details.
